Harnessing the energy and ego of IRONTOM

I have had a really interesting relationship with the way I consume music over the past few years. Most notably I tend to go down rabbit holes of artist radios and suggested playlists and end up liking a ton of singles without really realizing how big or small an artist is.

Based on how much I listen to IRONTOM I had just assumed they were equal to,fanbase listener-wise, the likes of Dirty Honey or the Struts. It turns out the world does not revolve around my music taste and I was shocked to see they have below 1 millions spotify monthly listeners. In fact I am even more aghast that they have a humble 252,000 monthly fans. I stress the word humble in that last bit mainly because their lyrical content and the energetic sound is anything but.

My first introduction to IT was a track called Be Bold Like Elijah. The instrumental guitar and bass riffs on the intro is stronger than my triple shot of espresso and the woodblock accents after the first chorus took me by surprise so much so I had to relisten to the first part of the song before I could continue listening.

The next three songs I consumed give me enough energy to demo an entire wall and repair it in the same day. Big Shot, Kid Midnight, and Call Me the West flex IRONTOM's guitar pedals and the vocals pack an even bigger punch. It's easy to hear their musical influences with licks of funk and punk with a splash of psychodelic vocalizing. Intro riffs and bridges that blend eras ranging from 60s prog rock styles to 80s metal along side percussion transitions more similar to disco than rock, IRONTOM can fit into a lot of different musical taste palletes.

They are quickly one of my new favorite groups and I look forward to seeing where they are headed. I hope to catch them on tour at some point in the near future. The amazing thing about their plug and play versatility is that they could open for Metallica or Twenty One Pilots and I wouldn't blink twice. Hell, I could even see them performing with Here Come the Mummies or Jelly Roll and would agree with the tour billing. Oh and did I mention they just released a killer collab with another phenamenal group DREAMERS. Both of which really like to use capslock.

All this to say, check out IRONTOM and boost that ego, we all could use a little confidence boost and their music is a perfect soundtrack for it.
