Multiple Rounds for King David's Origin
To start this quick AF review on a cliché note, You either die a hero or live long enough to… well you know the rest.
Based on the aesthetics and social media presence King David presents to the world, he is ready to provide the theme song to your revenge tour or entrance music to an indie wrestling gig. In either case you will want to lean into the classic all black get up with pops of joker purple trim to match David’s energy.
For a song born in the influential hip hop scene of Houston, Round and Round contains traditional hip hop percussion and subtly shredding metal guitar thrown into a blender to create an amplitude of energy fit for the backtrack of street fight montage. Vocal effects on the track are less a nod to thematically horror based hiphop artists like early Eminem and Mixtape Tyler, the Creator but more a blatant head bob to those who influence King David the most, additionally including theatric artists like Marilyn Manson and Insane Clown Posse.
Stylized to get a mob of music fans grooving, Round and Round balances the use of various vocal accents to create a chaotic dialogue between lines to paint a portrait that fits into an interrogation scene of a gritty action movie.
The synth and snare slice through the single like a saber and piano keys pack a punch.
Keep an eye out for King David because his origin is just beginning. Stream Round and Round below or check it out on my Small Time, Big Sounds Playlist.
