Year 5 of Rocklahoma

Over labor day weekend I will be attending my fifth Rocklahoma festival. While the general types of acts that perform at the festival aren't my usual cup of tea, I always end up enjoying myself and being surprised at what bands I ulimately learned more about or became a fan of thanks to getting me out of my normal comfort zone and into the general admission pit so to speak.

Previous names I've seen perform range from Guns and Roses and Cheap Trick to Slipknot and Korn. Sprinkle in Kid Rock, Seether, Three Days Grace, Shinedown among countless others, and I have filled my concerlist of greatly due to this event.

Though I wouldn't say I am dying to catch anyone this year, I am probably most excited for the overall line up this year compared to previous years. Heavy hitting headliners Pantera and Godsmack are going to be intense and some personal past favorites Kix, Mammoth WVH, and Ayron Jones will bring some familiarity to the weekend for me. I am ready to see Gwar from a distance and see how Daughtry fits into the mix. And as always, I never pass up an opportunity to see Rob Zombie.
