Why no one gives a sh*t about your band.

Alex Freund

The reason is simple, no one gives a shit about anything anymore. What does it all matter in the grand scheme of things really? Nothing matters so you mind as well do what you want for you by you.

Oh, I am supposed to be writing about a new single released by Tommy Siegel. Where are my manners, lets start from the top.

Are you looking for an anthem to energize your imposter syndrome into hyperdrive or perhaps you can't get enough existential commentary with upbeat 2000s-esque rock compostiion? Look no further than Your Band. That's right, YOUR BAND. If you don't have a band, you do now. I don't make the rules, I simply enforce them.

In all seriousness, this is a classically written song that is textbook Tommy. Lyrics are poignant and nihilistically hopeful. The guitar carries the track forward while his vocals give us a reason to look inward. There have been several instances in which Siegel or trio that is Jukebox the Ghost have released impromptu singles that seem to resonate with how I am feeling at that moment in time. While I haven't played it on repeat quite yet, my first two listens through are giving the indication Your Band is going to be another one of those songs.

I am ecstatic to follow along through the next coming months due to Tommy's mentioning of releasing more solo work. I do have to wonder if artwork for Your Band is a hint at some JtG outtakes to come. In either case, give Your Band a listen below and check out Tommy and other artists with Spotify monthly listeners below 500K on my Small Time, Big Sounds playlist.
